Through The Ages

We headed up to the mountains a couple of days ago.

It was a smoke filled day, with ash fluttering around in the air.

The valley’s were laden with smoke and one could be forgiven for thinking it was fog, except for the dirty colour and the burnt vegetation.

“I  can think of no worse devastation than that of fire”.

Looking out from the entrance to Narrow Neck which was blocked off.

“The land will recover – but will never be the same as what it once was”.

“Loss of life and loss of habitat

For those of us who feel the devastation within our spirits”.

“And tears came to my eyes

When I saw what was done,

And my soul was touched with a profound desperation”.
