There is nothing that I love more than stormy weather when it comes to Photography.
Even dull cloudy days can bring unexpected lighting conditions when the clouds may part just a little to let in a few rays of sunlight, just enough to cast a soft glow over forest or foliage.
Taken back in 2015 from Sublime Point at Leura in the Blue Mountains NSW Australia, where the clouds have parted just a little to let in a few rays of sunlight which cast a lovely glow over the foliage on the edge of a cliff and the Jamison Valley in the distance.
A closer view of the Mountains and the Jamison Valley. I took a softer approach with this image letting the mist and the warm glow in the clouds do the work for me. I also wanted to emphasize the silhouette of the first mountain.
On a rainy day a break in the clouds casts a lovely light over the pond, while the colours in this scene are made richer by the rain.
Cobbitty NSW Australia.
Early mornings are one of my favourite times for photography, but I also love those cloudy days.
